Posture Check - Shoulders
ππ» Watch for correct posture when seated and
working on the computer to deter neck pain,
headaches and back pain.
π
π»ββοΈ OUCH! Shoulders slumped forward (this pulls the
neck forward and can strain neck and shoulder blade
muscles).
π BETTER: Sit tall and gently pull your shoulder
blades back and together, towards your spine.
βΌοΈ Important to note: A laptop sitting on your lap is not
the best position/does not lend to optimal alignment.
Using books or a pillow to elevate the laptop on your
lap helps to improve position. Optimal alignment
would be computer screen directly in front of your
eyes⦠This is difficult to achieve if working on a
laptop/sitting on a couch.
β° TIP: Remember that this posture can be attained a
few times per hour when at your desk vs. trying to
maintain this upright posture at all times. Check in with
your body alignment throughout the day!
