The Spring 2023 Symposium was held in Lincoln, NE. This half day event included nourishing smoothie bowl creations for breakfast. Attendees experienced interactive discussions given by experts from the fields of Dentistry, Nutrition, Physical Therapy and Mental Health. Topics such as sleep hygiene, comfortable sleep, improving overall digestion and ways to achieve calmness were explored. Participants had the option to join in on a restorative yoga session with the intention of learning how rest one’s body and mind. An optional lunch and learn capped off the morning. Wholesome, balanced power bowls were served with a variety of options to please all palates. A strong sense of community, collaboration & positive energy were felt among all of those present.

Dr. Stephanie Vondrak owns and operates a health-centered dental practice in Elkhorn, Nebraska with an emphasis on treating the whole patient including obstructive sleep disorders in adults and preventative appliances for kids designed to guide craniofacial growth for improved nasal breathing and quality sleep. Remember…kids should not snore! Credentialed, Dr. Stephanie Vondrak has earned Fellowship Status with American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and Diplomate status by the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Vondrak is honored to lecture for the University of Nebraska Medical Center General Practice and Oral Surgery Residencies and advanced educational programs for Creighton University. Beyond Nebraska, Dr. Vondrak has lectured at national meetings including the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and is a former regional instructor for Cfast orthodontics. Dr. Stephanie Vondrak has published numerous articles on the benefits of wellness-driven dental care including the Omaha World Herald, Livewell Nebraska and Metro Quarterly. In 2013, Dr. Vondrak was chosen by the Midlands Business Journal as a “40 under 40” award recipient for excellence in professional development as an entrepreneur.

Evan has been practicing mental health therapy since 2015. He obtained his Masters in mental health counseling from Doane College in Lincoln, Nebraska. He has advanced training in attachment theory, trauma, and addiction. He is passionate about teaching his clients the importance of a healthy interpersonal life, healing past relational wounds, and incorporating mindfulness strategies into their everyday life.

Bridget has over 18 years of nutrition counseling and mindful eating expertise. She received her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Northwest Missouri State University. She went on to complete her Masters in Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska. She began her private practice, Power Nutrition, on the premise that real, wholesome, nourishing food has the ability and power to provide the body with the fuel it needs daily to be at its best. She promotes the practice of intuitive eating and works with individuals to gain awareness of how eating choices and patterns influence how they feel. She guides them to take action to feel their best. She affirms, ‘when we know better, we do better!’

Amberly has been practicing physical therapy since 2002. She obtained her Masters & Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has advanced training and certifications in both orthopedics and manual hands on therapy. She is passionate about teaching her clients about topics such as body mechanics, postural awareness and becoming advocates for their own health and well-being.
